Rivers State Youth Leaders Demand Apology from Commissioner to Governor Fubara

The Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition has called on the Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Chukwuemeka Woke, to apologize to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his alleged uncomplimentary remarks against the current administration in the state.

The youth leaders also urged Governor Fubara to address disloyalty within his cabinet with discernment and decisiveness.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the youth leaders expressed concern over the Commissioner’s behavior, which they described as “egregious.”

They highlighted Woke’s history of resignation and unrepentant return, which they believe signals a dangerous trend of self-interest and disregard for the public good.

The youth leaders emphasized the importance of integrity, loyalty, and service to the people in governance, and called for Governor Fubara to prioritize the interests of Rivers State and its citizens over personal agendas and political machinations.

They demanded that Commissioner Woke retract his remarks and issue a sincere apology to Governor Fubara and the government of Rivers State.

Failure to do so, the youth leaders warned, would only magnify his betrayal of the Fubara administration.

The youth leaders also praised former Rivers State Governor and elder statesman, Dr. Peter Odili, for his unwavering support for the Fubara-led administration and the collective aspirations of Rivers people.

They called for unity, accountability, and dedication to the advancement of the state, urging all stakeholders to work together to forge a path towards a brighter future for all.

This call from the Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition underscores the importance of unity and loyalty in governance, as well as the need for public officials to prioritize the interests of the state and its citizens.
