Former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has clarified that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has a single leadership and no camps.
This statement comes amidst rumors of political instability within the party, with insinuations of division into two separate camps.
According to reports, one camp is led by PDP's presidential candidate in the last election, Atiku Abubakar, and his loyalists, while the other camp is purportedly led by Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and his supporters.
In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Senator Suswam emphasized that "there are no camps in PDP" and that "we have just one PDP."
He further clarified that "Atiku remains the leader of our party" due to his position as the presidential candidate in the last election.
As the party navigates through these rumors of political instability, it remains to be seen how the PDP will address these concerns and maintain unity among its members.
