Pastor Kumuyi Urges Christians to Prioritize the Poor and Unemployed in their Communities

Pastor William Folohunso Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, has advised Christians to prioritize the needs of the poor and unemployed in their communities over giving their offerings to the church.

In a viral video, Pastor Kumuyi narrated a story of a preacher who instructed his members to give their offerings to the poor and unemployed people around them.

This advice comes in the wake of rising economic hardship in Nigeria, with many families struggling to make ends meet.

The advice given by Pastor Kumuyi echoes the sentiments of controversial OAP, Daddy Freeze, who had previously criticized Nigerian pastors for their lavish lifestyles while their members lived in poverty.

Pastor Kumuyi emphasized that building a church is essential, but it is equally important to remember the needs of the community.

He suggested that churches should allocate a portion of their funds to take care of the people in their community, especially those who are dying of hunger, malnutrition, and starvation.

This call to action comes at a time when Nigeria is facing a myriad of challenges, including rising inflation, high unemployment rates, and an increase in the cost of living.

The economic hardship has led to unfortunate incidents such as the death of a family member after eating poisonous ‘Amala’ made from cassava pills, as well as a father attacking his son over a portion of rice.

Pastor Kumuyi’s message is a timely reminder for Christians to take a more compassionate and empathetic approach towards the less fortunate in their communities.

By prioritizing the needs of the poor and unemployed, the church can play a vital role in alleviating the suffering of those in need and fostering a more inclusive and supportive society.
