Onjeh Challenges Ganduje, NWC: Uphold APC Constitution or Resign

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Daniel Onjeh, has called out the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Working Committee (NWC) over their handling of the ongoing crisis in the Benue State chapter of the party.

Onjeh, who was the 2023 senatorial candidate for Benue South, criticized the NWC’s recent directives to loyalists and proxies of Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, to withdraw their lawsuits or face disciplinary actions.

The directive was an attempt to resolve the lingering leadership crisis in the state, which has reportedly caused a rift between the governor and the SGF.

In a letter addressed to the NWC through Ganduje, Onjeh expressed his disappointment over the NWC’s disregard for his earlier petition and subsequent reminder, alleging anti-party activities against the embattled state chairman of the party, Mr. Austin Agada. Agada has denied the allegations.

Onjeh declared that the progressive members of the APC in the state will disregard the directive of Ganduje and demanded that the NWC either obey the party’s constitution or resign within seven days.

He emphasized that propriety and natural justice demand that the NWC explain why it refused to attend to his petition, stating that “justice delayed is justice denied.”

As the political feud between Governor Alia and Senator Akume continues to divide the Benue APC members, Onjeh’s challenge to the NWC underscores the importance of adhering to the party’s constitution and principles in resolving internal conflicts.
