Ondo APC Primary: 171,922 Members Cleared to Vote; Committee Appoints Ododo for Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State is set to conduct its governorship primary on Saturday, April 20, 2024, with a total of 171,922 accredited members cleared to participate in the voting process.

This information was released by the seven-member committee appointed to oversee the primary, which will take place in 203 wards across 18 local government areas.

The primary will employ the direct mode of voting, with 16 aspirants, including the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, vying for the party’s ticket.

The committee, headed by Governor Usman Adodo of Kogi, has assured the public of its commitment to conducting a transparent, fair, and credible election.

The Secretary of the committee, Ovie Omo-Agege, emphasized that the committee is ready to follow the guidelines and constitution of the party strictly.

Furthermore, the committee will collaborate with security agencies in the state to ensure a peaceful and orderly process.

Omo-Agege also appealed to the aspirants to caution their supporters to allow for the peaceful conduct of the primary, emphasizing the importance of unity and progress within the party.

As of the eve of the primary, none of the aspirants had withdrawn or stepped down for another candidate.

The Ondo APC governorship primary is a significant event for the party, as it seeks to consolidate its position in the state and prepare for the upcoming gubernatorial election.
