Northern Youth Group Pledges Support for Tinubu in 2027, Countering Elders Forum Claims

The Progressive Northern Youth Forum (PNYF) has declared its support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, countering claims made by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF).

The PNYF, a group of youths from the 19 Northern states, convened in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for a two-day conference to discuss the state of the nation.

The NEF had previously expressed regret over the region’s support for Tinubu in the 2023 elections, with a spokesman stating that such mistakes would not be repeated in the next general elections.

However, the PNYF has refuted these claims, asserting that the NEF does not speak for the entire Northern region.

Isah Usman Jabbi, the National President of the PNYF, emphasized that the Northern region will support President Tinubu if he seeks reelection in 2027 and that the region will vote massively for him.

This statement highlights the differing perspectives among the Northern population regarding their support for President Tinubu and the future of Nigerian politics.

As the PNYF and NEF represent distinct age groups and possibly different political ideologies, their differing stances on President Tinubu’s potential reelection in 2027 illustrate the complex dynamics of Nigerian politics.

It remains to be seen how these diverse opinions will shape the political landscape in the coming years.
