Nigerian Military Neutralizes ISWAP Commanders and Over 30 Members in Lake Chad Region

The Nigerian military, under Operation Hadin Kai, has successfully neutralized several high-ranking commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and over 30 members in the Lake Chad region of Borno State.

The operation was carried out by the air component of the military, following the terrorists’ refusal to surrender their weapons and ammunition.

The operation, which took place on Saturday, targeted notorious terrorist commanders such as Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari.

In addition to the commanders, the airstrikes destroyed numerous vehicles, motorcycles, and logistical assets belonging to the terrorists.

The Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted post-strike revealed the elimination of more than 30 terrorists.

A key facility within the terrorists’ Kolleram enclave, which served as a hub for food processing activities including grinding machines, was also obliterated during the operation.

This facility played a vital role in sustaining the terrorists’ operations in the region.

The Nigerian Air Force spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, emphasized the importance of this operation in degrading the capabilities of the ISWAP group and ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens.

He highlighted the commitment of the Nigerian military to eradicate terrorism and bring peace to the region.

This recent success in the Lake Chad region is part of the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast and Northwest.

The military has intensified its operations against terrorist groups, including the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in an attempt to restore peace and stability in the region.

The Nigerian government and military high command have declared several high-profiled terrorists’ commanders wanted, including Simon Ekpa, the notorious leader of IPOB, in the last one year.

This move demonstrates the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and protect the lives and property of its citizens.

The Nigerian military’s successful operation against ISWAP commanders and members in the Lake Chad region represents a significant step forward in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.

It serves as a testament to the military’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the nation and its people.
