Nigerian Army Rescues Women, Children, and Neutralizes Terrorists in Timbuktu Triangle

Troops successfully rescued women and children held captive by terrorists and neutralized several terrorists in the Timbuktu Triangle of Borno State.

The operation took place in the Damboa Local Government Area, with troops achieving remarkable results in their mission to clear out terrorist enclaves.

The Nigerian Army announced the successful operation on their official X platform on April 22, 2024.

During the offensive, the troops conducted air and artillery bombardments, followed by fierce ground battles, which forced the terrorists to abandon their strongholds.

The fleeing terrorists left behind valuable assets, including an MOWAG Armoured Personnel Carrier, a Canter Truck, and a Tractor.

The operation also led to the rescue of 44 civilians, including women and children who had been held captive by the terrorists.

These rescued individuals were provided with immediate relief and handed over to the Borno State Ministry of Women Affairs for further assistance and support.

In a related development, the Nigerian Army’s Operation Lake Sanity III and Operation Hadin Kai discovered a bread-producing factory operated by ISWAP terrorists in Maisani, Timbuktu Triangle, Borno State.

This discovery further highlights the Nigerian Army’s commitment to dismantling the terrorist infrastructure in the region and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.

The success of these operations underscores the Nigerian Army’s dedication to combating terrorism and protecting the lives of civilians in the region.
