For Nigeria’s security, the Federal Government has appointed Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap as the 19th Comptroller General of Immigration Service (CGIS).
The appointment comes with a clear mandate to ensure the effective protection of the nation’s borders.
During the decoration ceremony in Abuja on Friday, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, emphasized the importance of the new CG’s role in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders.
He stressed that the government would judge her performance based on how well she fulfills this critical responsibility.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also urged the officers and men of the service to cooperate with their new boss, warning that any proven cases of sabotage would not be tolerated.
He emphasized the need for discipline and unity in the service.
The new CG expressed gratitude to the President for entrusting her with the leadership of the Immigration Service and pledged to serve the nation with integrity.
Mrs. Nandap vowed to prioritize the welfare of officers and personnel while also strengthening policies against irregular migration and tightening border security.
Mrs. Nandap, who was previously the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of the Migration Directorate of the Service, takes over from Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju.
As the new CG of the Immigration Service, Mrs. Nandap faces a challenging task in ensuring the safety and security of Nigeria’s vast borders.
Her appointment comes at a crucial time when the Federal Government is determined to tackle issues of border security and irregular migration.
