New Enugu City: Where Splendour and Investment Beckon

In the heart of Nigeria lies a city on a hill, a city with a rich history and a vision for the future. Welcome to New Enugu City, a place where splendour and investment beckon.

The story of Enugu, also known as the Coal City, dates back to 1917 when it officially attained township status.

Since then, it has played consequential roles in the social, economic, and political lives of the region.

However, as time passed, the city aged, and the need for urban renewal and massive infrastructural development became evident.

Enter Governor Peter Mbah, with a vision to transform Enugu into a premier destination for investment, business, tourism, and living.

His ambitious plan includes tackling the perennial water scarcity, delivering water to the city’s homes, and constructing 71 roads in the metropolis.

The New Enugu City project, spanning 9,730.204 hectares of land, is being developed with the help of the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and is set to be completed in just 24 months.

The New Enugu City promises to be a modern, smart city, with features that rival the likes of Dubai and Singapore.

It will have centralised public utilities, such as a dedicated power plant and central sewage system, and will offer high-speed internet to its residents.

The project, however, involves the displacement of people and businesses. Governor Mbah has ensured that a proper relocation and compensation plan is in place for the affected communities, building a new community with modern amenities and farmlands for them.

As the Irish playwright, critic, and political activist Bernard Shaw once said, “Imagination is the beginning of creation.”

Governor Mbah has demonstrated that he is a leader who not only thinks about today but also about tomorrow.

With the New Enugu City project, the future of Enugu is bright, and the city is poised to become a hub for investment and tourism.
