NCSCN Urges Nigerians to Patronize Indigenous Airlines, Praises Tinubu

The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria (NCSCN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support of local airline operators, such as Air Peace, and urged Nigerians to patronize indigenous airlines to strengthen the Naira.

The call was made by the executive director of NCSCN, Comr. Blessing Akinlosotu, during a press briefing in Abuja.

Akinlosotu highlighted the contributions of Air Peace to the nation, particularly the recent reduction in airfare on the Lagos-London route, which has garnered support from Nigerians and encouraged them to choose indigenous airlines for air transportation.

She emphasized the importance of supporting Air Peace and other indigenous airlines against international aero-politics and pricing warfare by foreign airlines.

The NCSCN director also mentioned the impressive global flight operation records of Nigerian operators, such as Air Peace, which have challenged foreign operators in countries like China, UAE, Israel, Brazil, South Africa, and India.

She stressed that the aviation industry in Nigeria is a critical sector for national development and should be prioritized in national discourse.

The NCSCN also called for the federal government to consider honoring Air Peace with a National Honors award, citing the airline’s track record of sincere and logical contributions to the nation.

The aviation industry in Nigeria has a significant impact on the country’s economic, political, and socio-cultural aspects, with a massive population of over 70 million persons travelling in and out of the country annually.

The NCSCN believes that elevating air travel to the forefront of national discourse will help to further develop the country.

In response to this call to action, Nigerians are encouraged to support indigenous airlines, such as Air Peace, to strengthen the Naira and contribute to the growth and development of the country’s aviation industry.

By doing so, they can help ensure that Nigeria’s aviation sector remains competitive and continues to provide quality services to its citizens.
