Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc has restructured its board following the retirement of two long-serving directors and the arrival of high-profile legal and financial specialists. The aviation firm confirmed the departures of Akinwumi Godson Fanimokun, who held the positions of Independent Non-Executive Director and Vice Chairman, and Taofeeq Oluwatoyin Salman, a Non-Executive Director.

Both men stepped away after eight years on the board, with Fanimokun's exit taking effect from June 1, 2026, and Salman's from June 30, 2026. The company noted that Fanimokun retained a significant shareholding in the organisation despite his departure.

To address the leadership gap, NAHCO elevated Tajudeen Omoshola Shobayo, an existing Non-Executive Director, to Vice Chairman from July 1, 2026. The board also brought in two major appointments to strengthen governance and project delivery capabilities.

Wolemi Esan, a highly regarded Senior Advocate of Nigeria with over twenty years of experience, joined as a Non-Executive Director effective July 1, 2026. His expertise spans complex corporate disputes, international arbitrations, and regulatory matters, with particular knowledge of logistics, transportation, and airport concession deals.

Esan holds degrees from University College London and Durham University. Julius Omodayo-Owotuga also took up a Non-Executive Director role from the same date, bringing extensive experience in corporate turnarounds and infrastructure financing.

Omodayo-Owotuga previously served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Geregu Power Plc, where he oversaw the company's transition to a listed market-driven operation. He also held the position of Group Executive Director at Forte Oil, now known as Ardova Plc.

He currently serves as an Executive Director at First Bank of Nigeria Limited and holds a doctorate from Oxford Saïd Business School as well as a CFA Charter. Bello A.

Abdullahi of Dikko & Mahmoud Solicitors, acting as Company Secretary, signed and released the official statement.
