Kwara RTEAN Chairman Urges Women to Embrace Transportation Business over Prostitution

The Chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Kwara state, Alhaji Abdulrahman Olayinka Onikijipa, has advised women to engage in the transportation business as an alternative to prostitution in the face of the current economic hardship in the country.

Onikijipa emphasized that transportation is not just for men and encouraged women to stop viewing it as a male-dominated profession.

He praised the many women in Kwara state who are driving taxi cabs and tricycles to earn a living and highlighted the involvement of women in the decision-making process within the transport unions.

The chairman also urged passengers to be vigilant and avoid boarding any available car to their destination, as many transporters in the state are not legally registered with transport unions.

The call for women to enter the transportation business comes at a time when many are struggling to make ends meet due to the economic challenges in Nigeria.

By promoting the idea of women engaging in legal businesses, the RTEAN chairman hopes to empower women to improve their financial situation and contribute positively to the economy.

The advice from the Kwara RTEAN chairman offers an alternative to women who may be considering prostitution as a means of survival in these difficult economic times.

By entering the transportation business, women can not only support themselves and their families but also contribute to the growth and development of the transport sector in the state.
