Governor Makinde Applauds Nigerian Army and Security Agencies for Swift Response to Yoruba Nation Agitators

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their swift and effective response to an invasion by Yoruba Nation agitators.

The incident occurred last Saturday when agitators attempted to hoist the Yoruba Nation flag at the state government secretariat.

Governor Makinde praised the security forces for their efficient handling of the situation, which resulted in the arrest of 21 agitators.

During a visit by the 46th General Officer Commanding of the 2 Mechanised Division, Maj. Gen. Obinna Onubogu, Governor Makinde highlighted the importance of the security agencies’ timely intervention.

The agitators, armed with rifles, charms, and wearing masks and military uniforms, were successfully subdued by the security forces, showcasing the effectiveness of the state’s emergency security response system.

Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in the region, stating that the security agencies’ actions were critical in ensuring that the situation was brought under control quickly.

He expressed gratitude for the security forces’ swift response, noting that it was crucial in preventing further escalation of the situation.

The governor also acknowledged the challenges faced by leaders in the country, particularly in addressing the root causes of unrest, such as hunger and anger among the population.

He called for collaborative efforts to address these issues and minimize the factors contributing to such incidents.
