Governor Makinde and Governor Soludo to Inaugurate Key Infrastructure Projects in Oyo State

Governor Seyi Makinde will be joined by his Anambra State counterpart, Governor Charles Soludo, to officially flag off the 32.2km South-East Wing of the Ibadan Circular Road project on Friday.

This event marks the completion of the first phase of the long-awaited project, which was initiated by Governor Makinde to boost the economy of the state.

The 32.2km South-East Wing comprises six bridges and two interchanges, all of which have been completed since 2023.

This section of the 110km-long circular road project is designed to encircle the state capital, Ibadan, and ease the flow of traffic in the city.

It will also strategically link key locations such as the Ibadan-Ife Expressway, the Moniya Train Station, the Ilutuntun Business District, and the proposed Oluyole Free Trade Zone.

Governor Makinde’s administration has been committed to driving important infrastructure projects like the Ibadan Circular Road, which previous administrations had only considered but never implemented.

The project is segmented into four sections – South-East Wing, North-East Wing, North-West Wing, and South-West Wing – each with a specific focus on improving the transportation network in and around the city.

In addition to the road infrastructure component of the project, Governor Makinde and Governor Soludo will also commission three Junction Improvement Works in the Idi-Ape-Civic Centre-Agodi Gate axis.

These improvements were constructed to ease the flow of traffic in the city and further enhance the transportation network.

The inauguration of these infrastructure projects underscores the commitment of both governors to improving the quality of life for their respective states’ residents and fostering economic growth.

The completion of the South-East Wing of the Ibadan Circular Road and the Junction Improvement Works is a significant milestone in the development of the state and is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy.
