Governor Buni Approves Additional One Month Cash Palliative for Workers: Sallah Celebration Boost

Yobe State Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has approved the payment of an additional one month cash palliative of N10,000 for civil servants and N5000 for pensioners in the state.

This bonus is in addition to the earlier approved wage award for six months that commenced in February.

According to a statement issued by the chief information officer of the Office of the Head of Service, Alhassan Sule Mamudo, and signed by the acting head of Service, Hamidu M. Alhaji, the total amount approved is Six Hundred and Ninety Five Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira (N695, 900,000.00).

This includes Three Hundred and Twenty Million Naira (N320,000,000.00) for state civil servants and pensioners, and Three Hundred and Seventy Five Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira (N375,900, 000.00) for local government staff and pensioners.

The gesture aims to cushion the effects of the current hardship and provide relief during the forthcoming Eid-El Fitr Sallah celebration.

The payment for the March 2024 wage award will not be included with the March salary; instead, the March 2024 wage award and the one month bonus are to be paid by the first week of April 2024.

This will enable the civil servants and pensioners to celebrate the Eid-El Fitr.

The statement also emphasized that civil servants are expected to reciprocate this gesture of Governor Buni by being committed to their duties and continuously praying for the success of the Hon. Mai Mala Buni administration.
