Governor Aiyedatiwa Emerges Victorious in Ondo APC Gubernatorial Primary

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has secured the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming gubernatorial election.

Aiyedatiwa’s victory was announced by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, who served as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee.

The results of the Ondo APC gubernatorial primary election, which commenced on April 20 and concluded almost 48 hours later, revealed that Aiyedatiwa won by a considerable margin, scoring 48,569 votes.

His closest contender, Mayowa Akinfolarin, received 15,343 votes, while Olusola Oke and Jimoh Ibrahim secured the third and fourth positions with 14,915 and 9,456 votes, respectively.

The primaries were marked by controversy and tension, with a notable incident occurring in Ifedore LGA where all aspirants scored zero due to alleged shooting.

Despite the challenges, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s win was a clear indication of his popularity and support within the party.

As Governor Aiyedatiwa prepares to contest in the gubernatorial election, his victory in the primaries is a testament to his political acumen and the confidence the APC has in his ability to lead the state.
