Gov. Otti Dismisses Reports of Suing Tinubu and FG Over Seaport

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has denied media reports claiming that he sued President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, dismissed the reports as fake news and urged the public to disregard them.

According to the statement, the fake news alleged that Governor Otti sued the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President Tinubu for refusing to grant the request to establish a seaport and an international airport in Abia.

Another part of the report claimed that Governor Otti had banned businesses operated by Nigerians of northern extraction in Abia State until the approval for the seaport and airport was granted.

The Abia State Government has clarified that there is no truth to this “wickedly contrived fable.”

The government is still in the planning stages for the proposed seaport, and the Federal Government has provided for an airstrip in Abia in the current budget.

The Governor’s statement urged the public to ignore the fake report and treat it as “trash.” It is believed that the false information is the work of “idle rabble-rousers.”
