Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje has passed the screening exercise for the All Progressives Congress primaries. He underwent the vetting process in Abuja on Saturday ahead of next January's elections.
Goje is seeking another term representing Gombe Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber. A former governor of Gombe State, he told reporters he's ready for the party's primary contests.
The APC screening committee cleared him alongside other aspirants seeking party tickets. Officials confirmed he met all the requirements set by party headquarters.
"Together with other aspirants, I have been screened to contest for the primaries of our great party, APC, for Gombe Central," Goje said after the exercise.
He described himself as a founding member of the ruling party committed to its ideals. According to him, he'll work to advance APC interests across Gombe and the nation.
Goje pledged to present himself to voters for another mandate in the senatorial district. He vowed to continue development projects if re-elected to the Senate.
"I will once again humbly present myself to the good people of Gombe Central Senatorial District for the revalidation of the mandate they have overwhelmingly entrusted in me," he noted.
He promised to remain focused on bringing infrastructure to the area. Goje thanked residents across Akko and Yamaltu/Deba local government areas for their backing.
"The solid support of my constituents across Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas, despite external influence, is my driving force," Goje added.
His Special Assistant, Alhaji Ahmed Isa Kashere, released the statement on May 10, 2026. The timing comes as the district braces for intense electoral competition.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya has already picked a consensus candidate for the district. Goje previously rejected this arrangement and made his opposition known publicly.
Gombe Central is expected to witness a closely contested primary election. Multiple aspirants have signaled their interest in the Senate seat.
