Ex-Minister Abdullahi Defends Jonathan’s Leadership: Not Weak or Clueless, But a Victim of Politics

Former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Bolaji Abdullahi, defended the leadership of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, stating that he was not a weak or clueless president.

Instead, Abdullahi argued that Jonathan was a victim of the political climate during his time in office.

Abdullahi, who also authored a book titled “On a Platter of Gold: How Jonathan won and lost Nigeria,” praised Jonathan’s patriotism and careful use of power.

He mentioned that the former president was reluctant to hurt people and had a deep understanding of the potential consequences of using his full presidential authority.

According to Abdullahi, Jonathan’s perceived weaknesses were a result of the political environment at the time.

He suggested that if Jonathan were president in a different era, he might have adopted a different approach to leadership.

The former minister’s defense of Jonathan’s presidency highlights the importance of context and perspective in evaluating the effectiveness of political leaders.

As Nigeria continues to navigate its political landscape, understanding the factors that shape a leader’s decisions and actions is crucial in fostering a more informed and engaged citizenry.
