CNPF Defends Matawalle’s Support for Tinubu Amid Marafa’s Criticisms

The Core Northern Professional Forum (CNPF) has publicly criticized Senator Kabiru Marafa for his negative stance against the Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Bello Matawalle, over his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The CNPF, under the leadership of its President General, Malam Mikailu Kabiru Arabi, has expressed its disagreement with the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), stating that the criticisms do not represent the general consensus of the people in the northern region, regardless of their religious and ethnic backgrounds.
The CNPF has highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration in tackling the pressing issues of insecurity, education, agriculture, and unemployment.
It emphasized that the recent remarks by Matawalle against the NEF were a step in the right direction, as they demonstrate a commitment to supporting President Tinubu in his efforts to address these critical challenges.
The group also pointed out that Marafa’s actions have not met the expectations of a northern elder, as they undermine the collective goal of working towards a stronger and more secure Nigeria.
Furthermore, the CNPF has expressed its resolve to support Tinubu in his potential bid for a second term in office in the 2027 poll, emphasizing the importance of political stability and continuity in the pursuit of lasting solutions to the region’s challenges.
The group has called upon all stakeholders to join hands with the government in providing practical solutions to the issues plaguing the north, rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric that may hinder progress.
In its statement, the CNPF acknowledged the need for constructive criticism and diverse opinions but cautioned against personal attacks and political maneuvering that may distract from the primary objective of ensuring a safe and prosperous Nigeria.
The group also recognized the pivotal role played by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, in combating insecurity, particularly in the fight against armed banditry and kidnapping.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, the CNPF’s stance reflects a growing sentiment among the northern populace, urging unity and cooperation in the face of adversity.
The group has reiterated its commitment to supporting the Tinubu administration in its efforts to bring about lasting change and development in the region.
