Clark Calls for Disciplinary Action Against Wike and PDP Members for Anti-Party Activities

Edwin Clark, an elder statesman and Ijaw leader, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to establish a disciplinary committee to investigate the anti-party activities of Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, and others whose actions contributed to the PDP’s failure in the 2023 polls.

Clark described Wike as the greatest enemy of the PDP, accusing him of manipulating the party for selfish gains.

Clark also called for the immediate dissolution of the present National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP and the appointment of an acting National Chairman in accordance with the party’s constitution.

He emphasized the need for the party to revisit the online registration of its members to save it from depending on individuals and suggested setting up a strong disciplinary committee to investigate anti-party activities.

Additionally, Clark criticized rumors that Atiku Abubakar is already preparing for the 2027 presidential election, stating that if this is allowed, the PDP will collapse as the second principal party in the country.

He expressed concerns about the contest for the soul of the PDP between Atiku and Wike, describing their actions as a negation of the party’s founding ideals.

Clark’s statement comes as the PDP prepares for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, where he hopes the party will address the issues raised and take decisive action to safeguard its future.
