Ayu Withdraws Court Case Against PDP, Clearing Path for Replacement

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu, has withdrawn the court action he initiated against the party over his controversial removal from office.

This move comes as a strategic step to clear the path for a replacement to emerge from the North Central region.

Ayu’s decision to withdraw the case has effectively removed legal hindrances that could have potentially hindered the selection process for his successor.

With this development, the North Central Caucus of the PDP has begun mobilizing to ensure that the zone retains the position to complete the tenure, which is set to end in 2025.

Meanwhile, the acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, has been actively engaging various groups and stakeholders within the party.

The National Working Committee (NWC) recently passed a vote of confidence in Damagum, praising his performance and leadership abilities.

In the lead-up to the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Damagum and the NWC have held several meetings with different party members, including the National Ex-officio and State Party Chairmen from all 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

These meetings were held at the PDP National Secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, in Abuja.

As the PDP navigates through this transitional period, the withdrawal of Ayu’s court case and the subsequent meetings demonstrate the party’s efforts to maintain unity and strengthen its position as it prepares for future political challenges.
