The Allied Peoples Movement has picked Grace Oluwatobi Coker as its running mate for the 2027 Lagos governorship election, pairing her with Prince Laja Adeoye as the party's flag bearer.
Coker described her selection as an honour and responsibility on Saturday, thanking God, party leadership, supporters and Lagosians for trusting her.
She expressed gratitude to Adeoye, calling him her leader, mentor and principal. "I'm ready to work closely with him to achieve the party's vision for Lagos," she said.
The deputy governorship candidate pledged to support Adeoye in delivering victory for the APM in 2027. She committed to working hand in hand with party members at all levels to secure the election.
Coker commended the party's campaign team, volunteers and supporters for their sacrifices and prayers, noting their work would be crucial to success.
She also thanked her family, friends and associates for supporting her throughout her political career. Her appreciation extended to residents of Ibeju-Lekki local government area, her home constituency, and across Lagos State.
"I won't take your confidence for granted," she assured Lagosians, pledging to represent their interests with dedication.
According to Coker, the APM is offering residents "a new direction anchored on purposeful leadership, accountability, inclusion and sustainable development." She believes the party can transform the state through these principles.
The APM deputy governorship candidate reaffirmed her loyalty to the party and its mission. She called for divine wisdom and guidance as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.
