APC Primary in Ondo: Committee Assures Free, Fair, and Transparent Election

The Seven-man Primary Election Committee has pledged a free, fair, and transparent primary election for the 16 governorship aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the secretary of the committee, emphasized their impartiality and commitment to the credibility of the exercise.

The primary is set to take place in a progressive and peaceful atmosphere, with the accreditation of 172,025 eligible party members beginning between 10:00 and 11:00 am.

Voting is scheduled to start immediately after the accreditation and conclude by 2:00 pm.

The committee assures a seamless and family-like contest, with the determination to ensure unity among the aspirants and a successful eight-year administration by the APC.

Omo-Agege has dismissed any concerns of predetermination and emphasized the committee’s sole directive to conduct a free and fair election.

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, who is also a member of the committee, stands for his governor, the chairman, in demonstrating the committee’s commitment to impartiality.

The primary will only allow financial members of the APC to vote, as part of the recent revalidation exercise aimed at weeding out nominal and non-financial members.

This ensures that there will be no issues of over-voting, as only those on the revalidated register are eligible to vote.

The committee has communicated its assurance of a fair and transparent primary to the aspirants, addressing any concerns about the revalidation process.

The primary is a crucial step towards winning the general election and continuing the APC’s governance in Ondo State.

As the primary approaches, the APC in Ondo State and its aspirants are ready to participate in a free, fair, and transparent election that will ultimately result in a unified party and a strong candidate for the general election.
