President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, commended Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State for fostering unity and development across party lines in the state.
Akpabio, a former governor of the state, praised Eno for his efforts in bringing the people of Akwa Ibom together, regardless of political affiliations, in a birthday message to the governor on his 60th birthday.
Akpabio highlighted the encouraging and promising tenure of Governor Umo Eno, noting the numerous developmental strides the state has witnessed within just 11 months of his administration.
The President of the Senate expressed his support and that of the 10th Senate to make Akwa Ibom a reference point in the comity of states, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and inclusivity in governance.
The message, personally signed by Akpabio, described Umo Eno as a peace-loving leader who has turned Akwa Ibom into one big vivacious family.
Akpabio also acknowledged the role of God in the governor’s leadership, stating that his emergence and the accompanying peace, love, and development in the state are indicators of divine favor.
Governor Umo Eno was sworn-in as the fifth governor of Akwa Ibom State on May 29, 2023, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
In his inaugural speech, Eno promised a golden era for the state, pledging to usher in a new era of peace and security.
The governor called on the people of the state to support his ARISE agenda, which focuses on investment in agriculture, health care services, education, and other sectors to build on the legacies of previous administrations.
