Aiyedatiwa Promises Ondo Seaport Project and Power Restoration in Ondo South

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has assured the people that he would implement the Ondo Seaport project and restore power supply to the Southern Senatorial District if elected in the 2024 gubernatorial election.

Aiyedatiwa made these promises during his campaign tour in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary scheduled for Saturday.

Addressing religious leaders in the area, Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of the Ondo Sea Port project as a legacy initiative that would contribute to the economic growth of the state.

He also acknowledged the efforts of a son of the state working with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in completing a power project that is 98% finished.

The governor promised to help procure meters to address the power supply challenges in the region.

The governor received a warm welcome from party members and supporters across the local government areas of Ilaje, Odigbo, and Okitipupa.

He thanked the people for their support and urged them to come out in large numbers with their membership and voter cards to ensure victory in the party primary.

Aiyedatiwa also visited the traditional rulers of Odigbo and Okitipupa, Orunja of Odigbo, Oba Rufus Adegboyega Akinrinmade, and Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa, Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, and Amapetu of Mahin Kingdom, Oba William Oluwasegun Akinyomi.

He received royal blessings and reiterated his commitment to exploring the natural resources in the Southern Senatorial District for the state’s development.

In a show of support for Governor Aiyedatiwa, a former Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ogundeji Iroju, defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

As the gubernatorial race in Ondo State heats up, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s promises to implement the Ondo Seaport project and restore power supply in the Southern Senatorial District have become key points of his campaign, aiming to secure victory in the upcoming primary and the general election.
