Abia-based Steel Firm Cries Out Over Labour Shortage Amid Growth Opportunities

The Inner Galaxy Steel Company Ltd, based in Owaza, Abia State, is facing a significant labour shortage, prompting the managing director, Lin Shanbiao, to call on Abia State youths to apply for engagement.

This announcement comes as the company seeks to expand its operations and collaborate with the state government to enhance employment opportunities and boost the state’s revenue base.

During a courtesy visit to the governor, Alex Otti, in Umuahia, Shanbiao highlighted the company’s diverse operations, which include iron rod production, trailer body parts assembly, automobile battery production, and plastic bottle recycling.

He emphasized the company’s interest in exploring partnership opportunities with the state administration to foster growth and development in the region.

Governor Otti, in response, expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting and attracting business investments in the state, with the aim of creating employment and improving the revenue base.

He mentioned the establishment of the state Industrial Innovation Park, Owaza, as a key initiative to support existing industries and attract new ones.

The governor also encouraged Inner Galaxy Steel Company to collaborate with the park’s managing director to explore potential synergies.

The governor underscored the importance of fair labour practices for the company to attract government support and dismissed any concerns about possible clampdowns over non-provision of conducive working environments.

This gesture aims to foster a healthy and collaborative relationship between the government and the company, which will ultimately benefit the state’s economy and its citizens.

As Abia State continues to develop its industrial sector, addressing the labour shortage at Inner Galaxy Steel Company is crucial to its growth and success.

The company’s expansion plans, coupled with the government’s supportive policies, present a promising future for Abia State’s economy and the well-being of its residents.
