Abba Moro Criticizes Tinubu Government for Economic Hardship and PDP Opposition Role

Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has strongly criticized the Bola Tinubu-led federal government for its failure to address the current economic hardship in Nigeria.

The former Minister of Interior expressed his disappointment, stating that governance under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is not meeting the expectations of the citizens.

Moro pointed out that the cost of living in the country has become excessively high, and the current administration has not been able to alleviate the suffering of the people.

He also highlighted the disconnect between the reported appreciation of the naira against the dollar and the prices of goods and services in the market, which continue to soar.

The senator emphasized that the government’s decision to increase the electricity tariff only adds to the burden of the people, who are already struggling to afford basic necessities. He called the move “the height of insensitivity.”

When discussing opposition politics, Senator Moro defended the role of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in challenging the APC government.

He clarified that opposition does not mean fighting but rather voicing out the issues and flaws in the ruling party’s governance.

Regarding disciplinary actions against erring members of the PDP, Moro explained that it is not the responsibility of the National Executive Council (NEC) alone to compile names of those who have undermined the party.

He stressed that this duty falls on the relevant organs of the party, such as the ward EXCOs.

Senator Abba Moro has taken a strong stance against the Tinubu government’s handling of the current economic hardship in Nigeria and has also clarified the role of the PDP in opposition politics.
