Fayemi Criticizes Babalola for ‘Narcissistic’ Comments on Former Ekiti Governors

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has recently criticized Afe Babalola, a prominent Nigerian lawyer, for his comments about previous governors of the state.

Babalola had stated that past governors had not developed the state according to the vision of its founders.

Fayemi, in an interview with ThisDay, accused Babalola of suffering from a narcissistic personality disorder that prevents him from acknowledging the achievements of others.

He also pointed out that the lawyer has not been supportive of his administration, even during his two terms as the governor of the state.

The former governor emphasized that he brought only his name to public service and would not allow anyone to tarnish his reputation.

He added that he embraced Babalola during his first term in office, despite the lawyer’s support for Segun Oni in the 2007 election.

Fayemi maintained that every governor who has served in Ekiti State has performed well in their respective circumstances and has handed the state over to their successors in a better condition than they received it.

He also stated that Babalola’s biased views would not be the final word on their time in office.

The former governor concluded by acknowledging the contributions of Babalola to the development of the state but suggested that the lawyer might be suffering from a narcissistic personality disorder that prevents him from seeing the good in others.
