Umahi: Tinubu Not Responsible for Current Hardship in Nigeria

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that the current economic hardship in Nigeria is not the President’s fault.

Umahi made these remarks during a recent interaction with journalists in Ebonyi.

According to Umahi, the economic challenges faced by the country are a result of various factors, including the build-up of farmers and herders conflicts, which have been prevalent in the country for several years.

These conflicts have adversely affected food production, with farmers being prevented from accessing their farms.

Umahi, who was the Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC) committee on resolving farmers and herders conflicts, believes that President Tinubu’s policies are tackling the problems and that it will take time for the situation to improve.

The South-East geopolitical zone, in particular, is now free from the incessant farmers and herders conflict, which Umahi believes is a major problem that has been solved by the President.

He urged the region not to join the protests on economic hardship because, with the removal of the gunmen issue, the zone will be safe and farmers can work.

Umahi believes that President Tinubu should not be blamed for the current economic hardship in Nigeria, as he is actively working to address the issues through his policies and reforms.
