17-Year-Old Student with Mental Challenges Stabs Foster Mother to Death in Ondo

In a tragic incident that has shocked the community of Oda town in Akure, Ondo State, a 17-year-old secondary school student, Wunmi, has allegedly stabbed her 54-year-old foster mother, Mrs Funmilayo Adelayi, to death.

The suspect, who reportedly suffers from mental challenges, was living with the victim in a three-bedroom bungalow on Superjet Road, Premier Estate, off Oda Road in the state.

According to a neighbor, the suspect had been withdrawn from school due to her mental condition and was later enrolled in a private school to continue her education.

The neighbor also mentioned that Mrs Adelayi had been advised to take the girl to her parents, but she refused, believing that the treatment she provided would be sufficient.

The police have confirmed the murder and are currently investigating the motivation behind the crime.
