Uduaghan, Delta South PDP leaders endorses Okowa for 2nd term

The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Delta South Senatorial District, at meeting on Saturday, endorsed the incumbent governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term in office come 2019 governorship election.

At an enlarged meeting of the leaders, hosted by Uduaghan at his Warri home, the party leaders passed a vote of confidence on the Governor Okowa, over his performance so far and endorsed him as sole PDP governorship candidate for 2019.

 

The governor, while thanking the leadership of the party in Delta south, urge PDP faithfuls to me more committed to the idea of the party adding that the strength of PDP lies in the unity within the party.

 

He therefore called on all party members to put their individuals’ interest aside a work for the betterment of the party and its members.

 

Okowa also called for peaceful conduct by politicians during the Warri South Constituency 1 bye-election for the State House of Assembly, in order not to heat up the polity in the interest of peace in the State.

 

He added that the State Government will provide assistants to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) if any, to ensure that the conduct of the bye-election in the Warri South 1 State Constituency hitch free.

 

Earlier, Dr Uduaghan in his remark commended the Okowa for his effort in managing the state at this trying time and his collaboration with the Federal Government in bringing peace to the Niger Delta region.

 

Other prominent leaders of PDP at the meeting includes, the Deputy Governor, Barr.  Kingsley Otuaro, Sen.  James Manager, Hon. Leo Ogor, the state PDP Chairman, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, Hon Daniel Reyenieju, National Vice Chairman, South South, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi members of the Delta State House of Assembly and, Council Chairmen, and others.
