Thanksgiving as an application for more blessings from God – Apostle Igiehon

According to the book of Psalm 92 of the Bible, it is a good thing to give thanks unto God for his goodness, love, greatness, care towards mankind.

This was the submission of the Senior Pastor, Banner of Solution Christian Assembly International incorporated, Benin, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Igiehon while speaking with our Correspondent on the essence of Thanksgiving to God which holds towards the end of each year.

Apostle Dr. Igiehon described thanksgiving as an application for more blessings from God saying that when people appreciates God with the right attitude he adds more value to their lives.

“Thanksgiving is all embracing, its vital in the lives of both believers and all other persons. It is important to appreciate God for his benevolence and greatness towards our lives. Not all that entered into this year are witnessing the end of it.

In the book of Luke of the Bible, Jesus Christ healed Ten leapers, it was only one that came to appreciate him for his healing. And the Bible recorded that he was made whole. It wasn’t all the leapers that got that pronouncement. Thanksgiving is an application for more blessings and a value added life.

You might say that you’ ve not been able to achieve certain things you anticipated for but consider your health status and all other things. It is important to thank God because he is worthy to be appreciated.

While urging people to cultivate the right attitude in thanking God because according to the book of Malachi 1:6 of the Bible, the Senior Pastor noted that one’s thanksgiving must have a voice to speak for him in the days of trouble.

” In Genesis 4:3, the Bible recorded that Cain and Abel made a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto God. But while God accepted that of Abel because he sacrificed the best, he rejected that of Cain because his sacrifice was not the best he had. Also consider the Abraham story where he was instructed to use his only son, Isaac for sacrifice. He acted in obedience if not that God stopped him from using Isaac for the sacrifice. The bible recorded that Abraham’s obedience attracted God’s trust and respect and the heaven was opened to bless not only Abraham but his generations”.

Apostle Dr. Igiehon concludes that thanksgiving is a process where God take away unproductive life and replaced it with a productive one noting that it can prolong our lives and give us divine breakthrough.
