Ekabo said he was giving out awards to those who have contributed to the recent rise in development in the ancient town, noting that since Esiso and Inoaghan assumed office, the spate of development in the town has been rapid.

The Governor stated this during the campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Ika South, noted that the womenfolk come out in their large numbers to participate in politics, therefore they should be supported to contest for elective positions.

According to the Governor, "we believe in democracy and strongly believe people's votes must count; in every election. We campaign vigorously; we start early and sustain the campaign till the end."

Esiso stated this recently while briefing the press at the Party state Secretariat, in Asaba, challenged the All Progressive Congress, APC to come out of their bedrooms and test their strength at the forth coming Local Government Elections, saying that Deltans already know where to cast their votes.
