Police in Warri gun down robbery suspect

A crack team of police men from the A’ Division Warri at the weekend, at about 8:25 pm made a break through when they gunned down a four man operating gang member.

The armed robber who met his waterloo was said to be part of the four man robbery gang terrorizing Ajamimogho area and its environs in Warri.

The police acting on a clue patrolled to the area and on seeing the police officers, the robber opened fire on them thereby resulting to gun dull which lasted for some hours as the robbers made attempt to escape.

A police source revealed that the robbers have been on the wanted list as they have been terror to residents. The sourced said on sighting the police, they opened fire to stage the police but due to superior fire power, one of them was gunned down. He added that the shooting which began from Ajamimogha Street through Hotel De Mark, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area.

According to a source, items recovered from the unknown robber suspect included one pump action gun, a pistol fully loaded with ammunition and a vehicle with a plate numbers; AH 348 ABH and Lagos FST 133 AH.
