Orogun Council of Chiefs endorses Ominimini as sole candidate for DTHA Ughelli North constituency 1

Ahead of 2019 general elections, the Orogun Council of Chiefs led by Chief Johnson Akporugo, at their monthly meeting held at Orogun on Saturday, endorsed Chief Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi, as their sole candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli North Constituency 1.

While addressing the Chiefs, Obiuwevbi during noted that, the Orogun Council of Chiefs is made up of people across party line, non partisan politicians and apolitical.

He however added that it was necessary as a member of the council; to consult them and let them get first hand information on his ambition as he prepare for race ahead.

The chairman of the council Chief Johnson Akporugo, who offered prayer for Dr. Ominimini on behalf of the council said; “No one has done this since the existence of council and for this singular honour; I make a solemn declaration of endorsement of Dr. Ominimini as our sole candidate.”

The endorsement was unanimously affirmed by voice vote by other members of the council, as they urged other aspirants for the position to embrace Dr. Ominimini’s candidature as endorsed by the council.

The meeting which was attended by high profile chiefs of the kingdom includes Chief Johnson Akporugo(Chairman), Chief Shadrack Imoniero, Chief Barrack Ozor, Chief John Agabi(Secretary), Chief Emmanuel Ogobene, Chief Edward Ofomona, Chief Friday Akpoyibo, Chief Akoro, Chief Duwell Wanogho  and over 60 others.
