Ochor buries father amidst pump and pageantry

The remains of Chief Francis Anamali Ochor, father of the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, was laid to rest at his town, Umutu, in Ukwanui LGA, amidst pump and pageantry.

The burial ceremony which was spiced with some of the best Delta cultural display and traditional dances, also, had dignitaries from all walks of life to include the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Members of the State House of Assembly, political appointee, ex-board members of the state Oil Producing Area Development Commission, friends and well wishers in attendance.

 

At a funeral service organized in honour of late Chief Francis Anamali Ochor, the officiating minister, Apostle Allen Emmanuel said everyone will experience death, stressing that death was an inevitable end of every living being.

 

He added that at death believers will give account of how they spent their lives on earth, adding that total submission to God was the only way to eternity.

 

The grave side prayer was said by Pastor B.S. ldogun, while the dust to dust rite was performed by children of the deceased and family members at the family compound.

 

Speaking shortly in an interview, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor speaking on the father’s legacies’ stressed the need for those left behind to emulate as a peace builder.

 

He described his late father as loving, peaceful, and caring father would be greatly missed.

 

At the reception ceremony which took place at Umutu mixed secondary school, different dance groups entertained guest.
