Oboro, 57 Other Bags Uvwie Monarch’s Award

Member Representing Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Evelyn Oboro and 57 other sons and daughters of Uvwie Kingdom have bagged distinguished personality, corporate leadership, community institutions and community service awards from HRM Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.

The monarch while presenting the award to Hon. Evelyn Oboro who bagged Distinguished Community Service Award, described Oboro as his daughter whom he is well pleased with.

 

He said the distinguished community service award was to recognize and appreciates her for her contributions to the development and upliftment of Uvwie kingdom and her personal career.

 

According to the monarch, “I am very proud of you as the first Urhobo female parliamentarian. Your legislative interests focus on constituency projects, human capital development and making people – oriented laws. You have been able to take as much as possible, young people and women off the streets by assisting them to earn a living through skill acquisition and constituency empowerment programmes”.

The monarch stressed that the honour speaks volume of Oboro’s commitment to service and poverty reduction in the society, adding that the commitment of the lawmaker to quality leadership, service to the people, and fight against poverty was in line with the state government SMART agenda.

The monarch noted, “Oboro has a path with the people, and she has been following that in spite of the economic situation. I’m impressed that Oboro has done us proud and proved a point that Uvwie is always a local government area to beat in every aspect of governance”.

While receiving the award, Hon. Evelyn Oboro promised not to rest on her oars by continuing to offer services to the people of Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency.ShHe pointed out that the award was an honour that has imposed on her a greater challenge of justifying the confidence reposed in her by the people.

Hon. Evelyn Oboro while dedicating the award to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the good people of Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie constituency, said the support she receives on daily basis encourages her to do more.
