Obiogho ordained as Bishop of Light of the World Mission Church

The ordination and consecration of Bishop Harrison Uvieyikre Obiogho as the Bishop, of Light of the World Mission Church, Udu Road, Ovwian in Udu Local Government Area of Delta state sent both members of the church and friends of the bishop on celebration.

 Bishop Obiogho in his remark promised to be loyal and dedicated to the mission statement of the church, as the consecration and ordination ceremony coincided with the 35 years Anniversary of the Ovwian-Warri District headquarters of the Light of the World Mission church.

Eight other members of the Church were also ordained as elders of the church, they include; Oghenejabor Ikimi Esq., Chief David Odudu, Mr. Godfrey Anu, Mr. Robert Gariagan, Mr. Dick Ekpamaku, Mr. Isaac Sobrowe, Chief Lucky Ughelli and Mr. James Kupa.

In his sermon, titled “The prestige of the office of a Bishop”, Bishop Dr. Samuel Usiobaifo described president and founder of the church, His Grace, Arch-Bishop Jackson Ejiroghene Emake as a special man of God created to be great from the beginning.

He said if a man desires the office of a bishop, he desired a good work, adding that a bishop must be blameless, husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, be of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach, not given to wine, not greedy of filthy lucre but patient and not a brawler and not covetous.

According to him, “a bishop must be someone who can rule his house and having his children in subjection with all gravity because if a man cannot rule his own house, how can he take care of the church of God”.

He described the newly ordained Bishop, His Lordship Harrison Uvieyikre Obiogho as a dedicated, loyal man of God with impeccable character that anyone in the world would like to aspire to be.

In his brief speech before the ordination, Arch-Bishop Ejiroghene Jackson Emake, described His Lordship, Bishop Harrison Uvieyikre Obiogho as a dedicated and loyal servant of God filled with the spirit of God because of his faithfulness to Him.

Arch-Bishop Emake stated that he felt very happy and gave God all the glory for strengthening him to take the decision of ordaining Obiogho as a new bishop in the church.

When asked why he didn’t ordained one of his sons as Bishop of the church who will take over from him, he said “the creator directed me to do so, I don’t have my own decision, it is not a family church, it’s a church of Christ. I want Christ to see his church pure when he returns”.

He advised Bishop Obiogho to be loyal, truthful and honour anyone older than him and be dedicated and focus to the vision of the church because as clergies they are not kings but ordained servants of God.

In his remarks after the ordination, His Lordship, Bishop Harrison Uvieyikre Obiogho said “this call to service is an honour and a rare privilege. It is not an elevation borne out of versatility or charismatic personality but an elevation through grace, mercy and divine arrangement. I thank the living God for finding me worthy and acceptable”.

He expressed appreciation to Arch-Bishop Ejiroghene Jackson Emake, whom he said he grew and develop virtues, courage and humility under, adding that his vision is also his vision, his God also his God and he will continue to remain under his shadow and follow his footsteps till the end of time.

He commended members of the church for the acceptance shown during his declaration as a bishop, adding that it shows that God is at work. “I pray God to continuously increase and expand their coast”, he said.

He noted, “the Light of the World Mission Incorporated was founded in 1959 when the Arch-Bishop was at the age of nine and has so far opened several branches across Delta state and still yearning to open more across states and nations because one of the goals of the church is to plant churches far and near”.

Chairman of the reception, Engr. Frank Esemudje in his opening speech thanked Arch-Bishop Ejiroghene Jackson Emake for his show of a truthful clergy man by handing over to the new bishop, saying that several heads of churches across the country usually handover to their children or wives.

“Arch-Bishop Emake is a true man of God; there is no doubt about it. I want to use the opportunity to advise Bishop Obiogho not to disappoint the Arch-Bishop but should remain focus and carry on with the church activities in the truthful way”, Esemudje added.

Representative of the Owhorode of Olomu Kingdom, Chief John Ewenede, Arch-Bishop Solomon Gbakara, General Overseer of God’s Will Mission, Chief Amos Itihwe, DESOPADEC Commissioner, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor, Member DTHA, Chief and Chief Mrs. Tito Kedo, Chief Jones Ipoko, President General, Oviri-Olomu Community, Dr. Moses Omoduemuke, Chief Tony Oboro, former Chairman of Ethiope East LGA, Mr. Moses Onoghoro, Sir and Lady Richard Odibo, Chief Alex Igbinoba and others too numerous to mention attended the ceremony.
