Missing $10m: Delta APC urges Gov Okowa to clear his name

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Delta State  have called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to personally come clean and address Deltans on the issue of a purported missing $10million and clear his name because “silence implies consent”.

The Delta APC Publicity Secretary, Engr. Leonard Obibi while reacting to statement credited to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Delta Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ifeanyi Osuoza as published in the media that Governor Okowa is a God-fearing-Man, said that line of defense is not plausible in this case.

The spokesman described Osuoza defense as very lame, noting that is not out of palace for people to come to the aid a boss who is in trouble.

According to him, “It is normal that when a king is dancing naked in the market place, members of his community must make effort to come to his rescue. The truth must be told and Okowa must speak up now; because no matter how hard he tries to delay and avoid this commentary, he cannot run from his shadows. Whatever is done in the deepest of the dark tends to always comes to light.

“We therefore note that the defenses that the PDP Delta Publicity Secretary and other Okowa’s paid hirelings had issued in an attempt to shield their master completely misses the point. They are not doing Governor Okowa any good or justice because their responses are at best laughable, cooked up in the gutters and seemingly unintelligent.

“The weirdest was a rejoinder by Ifeanyi Osuoza, State Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State, who doubles as the Image Maker of PDP Delta. The content of his reply was visibly coined to distract, conceal, irritate and possibly divert attention from the core issue at stake; but we choose not to go down with him into such “gutter diatribe”.

“It is unfortunate that he is bungling up the chance available to Governor Okowa to speak up and address the core and fundamental issue raised about the alleged diversion of $10 million of state funds. The PDP’s ‘veil’ of deceit, lies and propaganda cannot change the fact that Okowa must clear himself of this alleged transgression against Deltans. This sad incident has exposed, once again, the careless, selfish, recurrent and thoughtless atrocities that various PDP-led administrations have been foisting on the innocent people of Delta State for over 17 years under the attentive and protective gaze of the parent PDP.

Delta APC added that, “If Governor Okowa claims to be innocent, let him take this golden opportunity to unshackle himself by upholding his integrity and reputation which his so-called “defendant”, Mr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, amplifies as a “God-fearing man, astute administrator and good manager of resources”.

Stressing that the era of; “hollow, empty words and meaningless promises is gone. The day of reckoning is here. Okowa is quite free to prove his transparency and accountability in governance.

The party also called on Okowa to tell Deltans how he expended the huge bailout funds from the Federal Government, when it is on record that Local Government workers in the  state are still been owed salaries up to 10 months in some cases.

He also caution spokesperson in Delta State mindful of his language, adding that should there be any political party in Nigeria, and in Delta State in particular, that is filled with “renegades, dubious characters, opportunists and failed politicians” it is the PDP, a disordered house with a tattered umbrella.

Engr. Obibi stated further evidence abounds of PDP members that have looted Nigeria and Delta State treasury. While some are in jail, others are ex-convicts, and many others are in court for numerous scandalous offenses.

He also advised PDP not to undermine the capability of APC, having defeated PDP at the national level, adding that Delta PDP is seating beneath an umbrella that will soon be torn to shreds. “The rains will soon be here and nothing will prevent it from coming down hard on his party.”
