Masah; Okowa’s aide resigns to contest for Burutu North Assembly seat

Special Assistant, Political to the Governor of Delta State, Hon. Godwin Masah has resigned from his appointment to contest for the Delta State House of Assembly, Burutu North Constituency, with promise to bring back Burutu to its glory days.

Masah who made this known during a stakeholder’s meeting for all aspirants in Burutu town, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area, said his resignation was in fulfillment of the 2019 electoral time table and guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and the Peoples Democratic Party for elective positions as it affects political appointees.

He stated further that “ahead of the forth coming Peoples Democratic Party primary election for State House of Assembly aspirants, I need to resign from my appointment to show to my teeming supporters across Burutu North Constituency of my seriousness and readiness to clinch the PDP ticket”.

He noted that his resolve to contest for the Delta State House of Assembly seat was in response to the clarion call by the good people of Burutu North Constituency for an experienced, articulate and development oriented person to represent the constituency come 2019.

He explained that he had served in various capacities in the Local Government Area as Councilor and appointive positions at the state level; he is very much abreast with how the legislature works.

Masah told the congregation that he was contesting for the Delta State House of Assembly, Burutu North Constituency to ensure that the people have their fair share of dividends of democracy through proper execution of constituency projects and proposition of bills that will positively affect the people of Burutu North Constituency and Deltans in general.

Masah who is fondly called by his admirers as Okadigbo, promised to hold quarterly constituency briefing to engender good relationship between him and constituents of Burutu North Constituency, adding that his developmental agenda will all be enshrined in the State Government SMART agenda.
