Marital Infidelity: Pregnant woman hacks husband to death in Ughelli

Outrage greeted the news of a pregnant woman simply identified as Okiemute Edafe who allegedly hacked her husband, Edafe to death on Monday morning over alleged marital infidelity at Ughelli in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.

It was gathered that Edafe, 27, was machete to death at Coolup area at Ekrejebor, Ughelli community by his wife who was said to have allegedly left her first husband whom she bore a daughter for the young Edafe.

Advocate.ng gathered that the woman attacked her husband while asleep, hence the deceased couldn’t put up a fight to defend himself.

According to sources, the estranged wife after committing the dastardly act, ran to Ughelli ‘A’ Division for cover for fear of been lynched by the angry mob, thereby sparking outrage.

The source alleged that “The woman was angry that her husband did not spend the night at home and after his return, she machetes him in one of his hands and abdomen.

“She ran to Ughelli ‘A’ division to report herself while friends of her husband rushed him to Central Hospital Ughelli where he was confirmed dead.

“Angered by his death, the friends wheeled and dumped his corpse at the entrance of Ughelli ‘A’ division and were demanding for the murderous woman to be brought out, a situation which led to a sporadic gunshot by the police to disperse the surging crowd.

The source further revealed that Edafe who bought a new car to surprise his wife was also planning to park in his new house next week before his life was cut short by a jealous woman, who according to a source has been threatening to kill the man and herself should the man gets another woman.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Acting Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright said, I will get confirmed the incident and said that investigation is currently ongoing.

The incident, according to a senior police officer attached to the Ughelli Area command he said, “Though they are not yet married, the woman has a 2-year child for the deceased and presently pregnant. The case has been transferred to Asaba for further investigations.”
