Man of the Year Award: Ochor congratulates Okowa, says it’ll propel the Governor to do more for Deltans

The Executive Director, Social Services Development, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, congratulates the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for bagging the “Man of the Year Award,” from Publishers of the Independent Newspaper, over the weekend.

Congratulating the governor, Ochor said Okowa deserve the award, especially his management of the state economic and security situation, even with low revenue inflow which distorted his plans he initially, but overcame it to fast track development of the state.

“The way and manner he had managed the economy and security situation of the state, had been wonderful, despite the low revenue inflow to the state on assumption of office.

“With this award from a well read medium like the Independent Newspaper, it shows that all his efforts to move the state forward were being noticed.”

Ochor therefore, called on Deltans not to relent in their prayers, as the Governor and his team are working hard to achieve their electioneering promises of ‘Prosperity for All Deltans’, which is been pursued under the SMART Agenda of the government.

He stated further that with the recognition, the Governor will be propelled to pursue more development agenda for the state, which will liberate the people from hunger, poverty.

He also assured that DESOPADEC in its policy is seeing that the SMART Agenda of the Okowa’s government is implemented within the mandate area of the commission to complement the efforts of the governor.

“DESOPADEC has in its policy implementation, executed projects that promotes the well being of Deltans within the mandate area, as can be seen in projects like skill acquisition centres, markets, school constructions and renovations, youth and women empowerment”

“I congratulate His Excellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and I congratulate Deltans, as this award will propel him to do more”, he added.
