LG Boss promises adequate security in Ukwuani; calls for peaceful coexistence

The Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government, Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe have reiterated his administration to ensuring that lives and property are safe in the area even as he assured communities with boundary disputes that their differences will be resolved and peace will reign among the communities.

Chukwudi gave this assurance during his 2-days familiarization tour to Amai, Eziokpor and Umuebu communities with boundary disputes; stated that by the grace of God and also the concerted efforts of the communities that permanent peace would be brokered.

The Council boss at the palace of the Igwete of Amai Kingdom, HRM Paul Solomon Ifeneziuche commended the people of Amai for their massive support for the PDP which resulted in what he described as 100% victory in the ward.

Also, at the palace of HRM Donald Ekeruche, the Ebu of Umuebu, Ogbuefi Chukwudi lauded the Kingdom for delivering the PDP candidates in the state LG polls of January 6th.

The chairman also at the palace of the Okpala-Uku, HRH Adam Okpu, expressed his gratitude to Eziokpor community for giving him and the PDP their votes in the last LG elections.

Chukwudi in all three communities stressed that his administration will ensure adequate security of lives and property in the LGA adding that it is only in a peaceful environment that other developmental endeavors can thrive.

According to him, “I want to thank everyone that voted for us in the last election that brought us into power, we ran for our various positions under the platform of the PDP but now I am the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government and the councillors are representing their wards not our party.

“I want to assure you that we are working tirelessly since we resumed office to follow up the peace process initiated by His Excellency, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, so as to find a lasting solution to the boundary disputes in our communities.”

The chairman noted that it is his desire and prayer that Ukwuani remain peaceful and live together as brothers that they are. He also added that his administration will touch every ward in the local government.

“We shall plan, execute and commission projects in this administration and no community will be left out. What the community leaders will do for us is to suggest 3 projects to be done in their community and further same through their councillors to enable us include them in the budget.” he said.

In their separate responses, the leaders of the Kingdoms pledged their co-operation to the administration of Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe and gave him their blessings. They also pledged to co-operate in the peace process and promised to play their part as will be required by the government.
