Igbide-Emede Crisis: Council Boss imposes 24-hrs curfew; suspends 2 monarchs, declares Igbide PG wanted

 

The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government, Hon. Itiako Ikpokpo, after an emergency security meeting of Isoko South Local Government Security Council on the recent killings, arson and criminality in Igbide and Emede communities has declared 24-Hours Curfew in Igbide and Emede communities from 6 pm today 11th December 2020.

 

The Isoko South Local Government Security Council as parts of its resolution, declared the needless killing, wanton destruction and arson as acts of criminality that is punishable by law and those found culpable will face the full wrath of the law.

 

According to a press release issued by Press Secretary to the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government, Okah Akpotha Fidelis, the council also suspends salaries of monarchs of the two warring communities Igbide and Emede for their failure to nib the crisis in the bud.

 

It’s was also resolved to that the council chairman officially communicates their recommendation to the State Governor for the “retrieval of monarchs Staff of Offices by the Delta State Government.”

 

The Isoko South Local Government Security Council as declared President General of Igbide wanted for its role in the crisis, adding that Delta State government should cease to recognise the President Generals of Igbide and Emede communities.

 

They equally tasked companies and institutions operating in both communities not to accord the two President General any recognition henceforth.
