Homosexuality: Baga Community declares Samuel Imazenobe, Musa wanted

Following the crisis that engulfed Baga Community in Borno State, North East of Nigeria leading to the death of some resident, the community leaders have declared one Samuel Imazenobe and his accomplice, one Musa Tijani wanted  for engaging in act of homosexuality which sparked off crisis in the community.

Advocate gathered that troubled started on February 18th, 2013 when Samuel Imazenobe and his gay partner were allegedly making love at his father’s home, and forgot to shut the window, a passerby saw them and reported to the Islamic leader of Baga community.

The Islamic leader mobilized some youths who besieged Imazenobe resident demanding that the gay partners be brought out to face justice for desecrating their land, offense punishable by death by the Baga customs and traditions, but upon conviction in Nigeria caries up to 14 years jail term.

Our source who pleaded for anonymity for fear of attack said that the mob lunched attacked on Samuel Imazenobe father’s house, setting the house ablaze, clubbing anyone in sight.

In the mist of the confusion created by the mob action, Samuel Imazenobe allegedly escaped through the back window into the bush, though not without some bruises he got while trying to escape, however, his gay partner, Musa Tijani was not that lucky as he was lynched by the ravaging mob.

Our source also added that there is unconfirmed report that out of the two people killed following the mob action, that Samuel Imazenobe father may likely be one, while the other is unknown.

Since the incident, the where about of Mr Samuel Imazenobe is unknown  and no one have seen or heard from him, his uncle was said that have left the community at of fear of been attacked, and as at the time of filling this report, the police and the community youths are on a man hunt for Mr Samuel Imazenobe and Musa.
