Akpodoro gave this commendation at his Ughelli country home in the oil-rich Delta State during an enlarged meeting with the youth of the Niger Delta region wherein he canvassed support for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC administration just as he appealed to teeming youth of the region on need to secure oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta.

Akpodoro who is the National President of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitator, (NCNE-A) noted that the appointment of Gen. Garba is one the best appointment t to be made by the President in recent time.

He added that President Buhari has always put Nigeria first in his choice of “who gets what, when and how” as against what he described as lopsided and primordial considerations in appointments displayed by the immediate past administration.

According to the Urhobo-born ex-militant, Garba having served the nation as an army officer where by the dint of hard work and honesty, the job of a chairman on the board of NIMASA will amount to doing what he knows best.

As NIMASA board chairman, Akpodoro noted that Garba would make the Nigerian waterways hot for criminals whose means of livelihood are crimes and criminality.

He noted further that the era of oil bunkering, sea robbery and sundry crimes on “our waterways are gone with this singular appointment.”
He called on the new NIMASA board chairman to set machineries in place to engage the youth who are residents of coastal communities in the Niger Delta region for intelligence gathering adding that apart from eking out a living from such engagement the youth would be able to contribute their quota to security of life and property and ultimate development in the region.
