Eholor declare his intention to run for Councilorship of Utoka, Ovia North East

The President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor has declared his intention to run for Councilorship following the passage of the amended electoral bill which provided for Independent candidacy.

Chief Eholor made this known while speaking to journalists in his residence in Benin on why he decided to run.

Chief Eholor who said he decided to run for councillorship under the banner of independent candidacy averred that he wants to step out of the box and change the narrative of politics and give back to the people of Utoka, Ovia North East, Edo State.

“I want to do things differently, over the years politicians in Africa thinks politics is about making money, no it’s not. I believe politics is about giving to society and not about grabbing and taking. I thought if I have to contest under the platform of APC or PDP they will taint my blood with corruption because their blood is very infectious. I want to contest for Councilorship because it is time for me to give back to my people. I decided to contest for Utoka ward in Ovia North East to bring development to them. My salary will be given to my constituents. The health centre and only secondary school they have there today, Utoka Grammar School was built by me. I also constructed the earth road and empowered my people with jobs. Politics is not an investment where you get the reward in cash. While campaigning I will remind my constituents of the things that I have done for them”.

He stressed that his blueprint is centred on education because a country without education is blind noting that parents who refused to send their children to school will be penalized.

“Every child would have access to education and any parent who does not send their children to school will be penalised. And every child would be entitled to breakfast and lunch in school. I will teach people how to fish, the ers of sharing bags of rice and salt is over”.

On the issue of power rotation in the State, the Democracy Observer General averred that it exists to fan the embers of selfish oriented politicians noting that it does not allow the emergence of the best candidate that has the dreams and aspirations of the majority of the people at heart.
