In a Press statement release by the Special Assistant on Media to the MD, Dr Prince Orhomonokpaye wondered why some print and social media would carry such a frolicsome report that has no iota of truth inside.

He said; “I have read through the report and I am surprised that the media could write such frivolous report that is unfounded. The issue sited in the report that DESOPADEC MD paid Daily Independent Newspapers the sum of N350Million as debt for advert publications, squandered N270Million and the issue of N1.5Billion DESOPADEC fund withdrawn by Sterling Bank are baseless and has no iota of truth. No contract was awarded to the daughter of former Governor of Delta state, Chief James Ibori to purchase vehicles for the commission as reported in the print and social media”.

While advising the media to always crosschecks their facts before going to press, the SA on media urged the general public to disregard such publications orchestrated by some negative elements determined to tarnish the good image of DESOPADEC MD and that of the other board members.
